Hyatt will expand World of Hyatt award tiers from three to five levels in May 2026, adding more pricing flexibility while keeping a fixed award chart. Top-tier Category 8 hotels could rise to 75,000 points per night, though some lower-category stays may cost fewer points. Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced that beginning in May 2026, World of Hyatt will expand its hotel award chart from three redemption levels to five. The current Off-Peak, Standard, and Peak structure—introduced in 2021—will transition to Lowest, Low, Moderate, Upper, and Top tiers.

Hyatt will continue to use a published award chart with fixed point thresholds, unlike competitors such as Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors, which largely rely on dynamic pricing. Hyatt properties remain categorized from one to eight, ranging from select-service hotels like Hyatt Place Raleigh-Durham Airport to luxury properties such as Park Hyatt New York.

Under the revised structure, award pricing flexibility increases. For example, a Category 8 standard room that previously topped out at 45,000 points on Peak dates could now reach 75,000 points at the Top tier. Conversely, lower-category hotels may see reduced entry-level pricing, with some Category 3 rooms dropping from 9,000 points (Off-Peak) to 8,000 points at the new Lowest level.

Hyatt said only a limited number of properties will shift nights into the higher Upper and Top tiers this year, and reservations made before the May rollout will be honored at the original rates. Executives emphasized that the update preserves transparency while allowing more precise pricing adjustments in response to demand.

The company also revealed plans to introduce digital point-sharing later in 2026, enabling members to transfer World of Hyatt points directly to other members—an expansion of an already popular feature that currently requires manual processing.

World of Hyatt closed 2025 with more than 63 million members, reflecting roughly 19 percent year-over-year growth. According to Hyatt’s earnings call, loyalty members accounted for nearly half of the company’s occupied rooms globally last year, underscoring the program’s growing influence on booking behavior and revenue strategy.
