In close cooperation with Visa Australia and Loyal Solutions, Virgin Velocity, the loyalty program of Virgin Australia, launches Pay with Points, enabling  members to spend their Velocity points even at 30.000 feet.

Velocity Frequent Flyer members can now use their Velocity Points to pay for food and drinks on selected Virgin Australia operated domestic and short-haul international flights. No fees, no fuss – just rewards at 30,000 feet.

Velocity continues to redefine airline loyalty in Australia, becoming the first local airline rewards program to offer Point redemption for onboard purchases through its innovative Pay with Points feature.

The new Pay with Points offering gives members more control and flexibility, making it easier than ever to turn Points into everyday rewards while flying.

Members simply link their Velocity account to an eligible Visa credit or debit card via the app. In the air, they pay as usual with the linked card and after landing, receive a notification to tap and Pay with Points – no pre-planning or manual conversion needed.

Nick Rohrlach, CEO of Velocity Frequent Flyer, says the launch of Pay with Points represents a significant step forward in how members engage with their Points.

“Pay with Points is a game-changer for airline loyalty in Australia. It gives our members the power to redeem Points, creating a more seamless and rewarding experience every time they fly with Virgin Australia.

“We’re proud to be piloting this innovation and will continue to refine the experience while expanding the ways members can use this technology in the future.”

Pay with Points is now live exclusively on Virgin Australia domestic and short haul international operated flights, with more Pay with Points redemption opportunities set to launch in the coming months.

Peter Kisbye, CEO and founder of Loyal Solutions; “Welcoming Virgin Australia, such an iconic brand, to the family of airlines utilizing LoyalTfacts – our market leading SaaS technology –  to power innovative solutions for their members is a such a proud moment for everyone at Loyal Solutions.

Velocity is know across the world as a leading innovator and recognized and awarded for its focus on the customer experience.  We are proud to, together with Visa Australia, enable this innovative solution for Velocity and look forward to watching it take off.

This had not been possible without the commitment of Visa Australia, the Velocity team and everyone at Loyal Solutions, it has indeed been a fantastic teamwork. We will all at Loyal Solutions take a minute to celebrate this achievement, and then get back to work providing the best Payment/Card linked technology (CLT) to airlines across the globe.  We are proud to partner with SAS, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, Emirates and now Virgin Australia”.
