With tourism booming across Latin America, Uber is doubling down on its efforts to elevate the travel experience—this time with a fresh spotlight on Puerto Rico. The company has rolled out the latest phase of its travel-centric initiative, Uber Te Espera, aimed at delivering smoother and more culturally enriching experiences for visitors on the island.

In collaboration with Discover Puerto Rico, the initiative aligns with a growing wave of global interest in the destination, fueled by high-profile events like Bad Bunny’s 2025 residency, which continues to attract fans from around the world.

A cornerstone of the program is complimentary virtual training for all Uber drivers operating in Puerto Rico. This training covers local history, traditions, cuisine, and key events, enabling drivers to serve as knowledgeable cultural ambassadors and informal tour guides for passengers.

Celebrating Local Flavors and Landmarks

Building on its existing Explorer’s Guide—an in-app feature that highlights popular sites and food spots—Uber Te Esperaplaces even more emphasis on showcasing Puerto Rico’s unique offerings. Uber Eats has also introduced a curated section spotlighting iconic Puerto Rican dishes like mofongo, asopao, and alcapurrias, giving visitors a taste of the island’s rich culinary heritage.

So far, travelers from over 120 countries have used the Uber platform to navigate Puerto Rico, with popular destinations including Old San Juan, the Cruise Terminal, T-Mobile District, and Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.

This expanded initiative not only strengthens Uber’s footprint in the Latin American tourism market but also reinforces its role in supporting local economies by fostering immersive and authentic travel experiences.
