Sustainability technology company Thrust Carbon has launched a new behavioral-change tool designed to influence traveler decisions at the moments that matter most. Announced on January 20, 2026, the new EngageAI platform aims to guide frequent travelers toward more sustainable and cost-effective choices while they plan and take trips.
Unlike traditional reporting tools that analyze travel after it happens, EngageAI focuses on influencing behavior in real time. The platform taps into travelers’ itineraries and local travel intelligence to deliver targeted messages through multiple channels, including booking tools at point of sale, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, and email. These prompts are designed to appear at key decision points—before and during a trip—when travelers are most likely to adjust their choices.
For example, EngageAI can combine itinerary details with flight status, safety data, and immigration queue information to send a message as a traveler arrives at an airport, encouraging them to take a train instead of a car when it is faster, cheaper, and lower-emission. The goal is to make the most sustainable option also the most practical one.
At launch, Thrust Carbon said EngageAI supports all major travel management companies (TMCs), with deeper integrations into TMC applications already underway. This allows companies to embed sustainability nudges directly into existing corporate travel workflows, rather than introducing new systems or processes.
The tool is specifically targeted at companies’ most frequent travelers. Thrust Carbon noted that these travelers typically account for a disproportionate share of both travel emissions and spend, meaning even small changes in their behavior can deliver outsized environmental and financial benefits.
Founder and CEO Kit Aspen said the company’s data-driven approach allows it to predict where emissions are generated and where behavior changes can have the greatest impact. He emphasized that most travel emissions are not driven by one-off trips, but by repeated decisions made over time—and that influencing those patterns can materially change how an entire travel program performs.
By shifting the focus from reporting to real-time engagement, Thrust Carbon positions EngageAI as a practical tool for companies seeking to reduce emissions, control costs, and support more responsible travel without restricting employee choice.
