Thai Airways International (TG) and Kuwait Airways (KU) have announced the launch of a new codeshare agreement aimed at enhancing travel connectivity and passenger options between key destinations in Asia and Europe.
Expanding Routes and Market Reach
Under the new partnership, TG’s flight code will be featured on KU flights operating between Kuwait City (KWI) and Bangkok (BKK), as well as on European routes from Kuwait City to Athens and Rome. This will enable Thai Airways to sell seats on these routes, broadening their market reach.
In a reciprocal arrangement, KU’s flight code will be displayed on TG flights between Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, starting on June 26. This will allow Kuwait Airways to market these flights, thereby increasing their service offerings to passengers.
Future Prospects for Codeshare Expansion
The codeshare agreement has the potential to expand further, pending government approvals. Both airlines are looking to provide additional codeshare flights on more routes between KWI and key destinations in the Middle East and Europe. Kuwait Airways’ current codeshare destinations include major cities such as Amman, Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, Cairo, Casablanca, and Milan.
Additionally, Kuwait Airways will market TG-operated flights from Bangkok to South Korea and other Far Eastern destinations, further enhancing travel options for passengers.
Leadership Statements and Vision
Mr. Chai Eamsiri, CEO of Thai Airways, expressed optimism about the new cooperation with Kuwait Airways. “The codeshare agreement will offer passengers greater choices in traveling between Bangkok and Kuwait City, with access to other parts of the Middle East, North Africa, and European countries,” he stated.
Captain Ahmad M. Alkreebani, CEO of Kuwait Airways, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the broader benefits of the partnership. “We look forward to developing the relationship further and introducing more added-value benefits in the future. Enhancing our seamless connectivity and offering passengers more options and experiences will not only strengthen commercial and tourism relations between Kuwait and Thailand but also enable us to work closely to offer the best services to passengers and improve customer experience,” said Captain Alkreebani.
The new codeshare agreement between Thai Airways and Kuwait Airways marks a significant step forward in enhancing air travel connectivity between Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Passengers can look forward to increased travel options, improved services, and a seamless travel experience as both airlines work together to expand their network and market presence.
