SriLankan Airlines received the prestigious title of Leading International Airline – South Asia at the recent South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) held in Bangalore, India just last week.

At the same awards ceremony, the airline also clinched the Leading Airline Class – Business Class category. SATA, widely regarded as one of the most esteemed recognitions in the region’s travel and hospitality industry, annually acknowledges the top performers based on votes cast by industry professionals and passengers in South Asia.

By adding these latest wins to its previous achievement of the ‘Visitors Choice – Airline of the Year’ citation at the previous year’s SATA event, SriLankan Airlines continues to affirm its prominent position in the South Asian region.

The airline currently operates 140 weekly flights connecting Colombo with numerous cities across South Asia, including destinations in India, the Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

Ravindran V, the regional manager for India, Bangladesh, and Nepal at SriLankan Airlines, expressed, “This region has been instrumental to our growth and constitutes a significant portion of SriLankan Airlines’ operations. This recognition motivates us to continue to lead in South Asia and provide our customers with the best Sri Lankan service and connectivity as we move forward.”

SriLankan Airlines’ South Asian network encompasses major cities in India, such as Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Delhi, along with Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan, Kathmandu in Nepal, and Dhaka in Bangladesh.

Notably, SriLankan Airlines is the sole international carrier that offers services to both Male and Gan Island in the Maldives, making it a preferred choice for travelers from Europe, the Middle East, India, and East Asia heading to the stunning Maldives.
