GLOSouth African Airways (SAA) has entered a strategic partnership with Discover the World, which will become the airline’s general sales agent in North America. The announcement comes after SAA appointed Discover the World as general agent for sales and marketing representation in the United Kingdom in June 2022.
The move is designed to boost the airline’s revenue in North America by enhancing its visibility among trade and corporate partners. John Lamola, the airline’s CEO, said it is a testament to SAA’s ongoing growth strategy, which he said is bearing positive results.
The carrier announced in June that it will planned to resume transatlantic flights in the fall. The former state-owned airline is re-emerging under private control from a pandemic-time shutdown and a 2021 restructuring.
“SAA is pleased to once again be able to welcome our valued travelers from North America. We look forward to treating them to the warm South African hospitality that we are celebrated for,” said Lamola.
