Sabre has partnered with Travelin.Ai to expand access to its SabreMosaic marketplace and Lodging AI while rolling out split-payment tools for blended travel, even as a major sustainability team shakeup raises questions about its ESG momentum.

Sabre Corporation has announced a strategic alliance with Travelin.Ai while simultaneously restructuring its sustainability operations, leading to the exit of three senior environmental, social and governance (ESG) executives.

Under the new partnership, Travelin.Ai will integrate access to Sabre’s SabreMosaic Travel Marketplace—including traditional airline content, NDC offers, and low-cost carriers—into its booking platform. Additionally, Travelin.Ai users will receive Sabre’s Lodging AI capabilities, which suggest personalized hotel options based on traveller preferences and trip context, and offer alternatives when a preferred hotel is unavailable or when a flight is booked without lodging.

Sabre reports that in internal testing, travellers engaging with AI-driven hotel suggestions were up to 14 percent more likely to complete a booking—boosting hotel attachment rates and helping travel management companies capture incremental revenue and reduce leakage to external booking channels.

On the Travelin.Ai side, the platform supports blended travel (combining business and leisure in one trip) and includes split-payment functionality that separates personal and corporate expense portions. The rollout is planned through travel management companies in the U.S., U.K., Nordics, Germany, and Australia.

While the technology tie-up signals an aggressive push in travel retailing, Sabre’s internal reorganisation has seen the Senior Director of Sustainability, the Head of Sustainability, and the Chief ESG Officer depart the company. The company still retains certain ESG leadership—the sustainability program and corporate messaging are expected to be overseen by Kristin Hays—but the shakeup has prompted scrutiny over whether Sabre will be able to sustain momentum in its climate and sustainable travel initiatives.

Separately, Sabre has in recent months pushed forward other strategic moves: it announced leadership changes that separate the roles of President and CEO, with industry veteran Kurt Ekert elevated to President (alongside his CEO duties) to accelerate execution. The company is also advancing into “agentic” AI territory—unveiling APIs built on its Travel Data Cloud and a proprietary Model Context Protocol, intended to power seamless AI-driven shopping, booking, and servicing across flights, hotels, and post-booking tasks.

These developments underscore a pivotal moment for Sabre: balancing ambitions in AI-driven travel retail against challenges in maintaining its ESG credentials amid internal transitions.
