This new Boeing 787-9 is the 10th Dreamliner in Oman Air’s fleet and is part of an existing order with Boeing that includes eight additional aircraft, expected by 2027.
Expressing excitement about the new addition, Oman Air CEO Con Korfiatis highlighted that this aligns with the airline’s strategy to maintain a modern, unified fleet. Korfiatis emphasized the benefits, including operational efficiency, optimized maintenance costs, and a consistent experience for passengers.
Korfiatis also noted that this fleet expansion supports the airline’s focus on achieving financial sustainability while maintaining its reputation as a leading global carrier. The move is also in line with Oman’s broader goals to boost tourism and enhance connectivity in the coming years.
In a recent move, Oman Air rebranded its premium cabin experience, introducing the “Business Studio” to replace the traditional first class. This change was driven by a decline in demand for first-class services. Korfiatis explained that this strategic shift is based on guest feedback and global market trends, aiming to provide a more valuable and appealing business class experience that better aligns with the target demographics of Oman’s national tourism strategy. The new Business Studio is also offered at a more competitive price point.
