GLOThe Mi Rewards loyalty program is gearing up for a relaunch across five towns and cities in the UK after undergoing significant updates, aiming to foster local and loyal shopping practices.
Distinguished as a pioneering loyalty platform, the revamped Mi Rewards places local offers at the forefront. Participants accrue points by patronizing local businesses, which can then be redeemed for exclusive deals from those same establishments.
Powered by Perth-based fintech firm Miconex in collaboration with loyalty solutions provider Stampfeet, the Mi Rewards program is both free to join and accessible online or via a dedicated app. A notable feature of the program is its integration with users’ regular payment cards, automatically awarding points for transactions made with registered businesses in the respective town or city.
Branded as “the frequent shopper loyalty program,” Mi Rewards also introduces a gamification element, allowing users to earn badges as they shop and advance to the esteemed “Local Hero” status.
Colin Munro, managing director of Miconex, highlighted the program’s enhancements, emphasizing its seamless functionality coupled with upgrades aimed at meeting customer and business needs alike.
Asaf Rozin, CEO of Stampfeet, commended Mi Rewards as an exemplary loyalty initiative benefitting all stakeholders. Rozin also underscored the program’s positive impact on local economies, emphasizing its innovative approach to supporting local commerce and fostering collaboration between national brands and independent businesses.
Perth in Scotland is the first city to launch the updated Mi Rewards program, featuring a diverse array of exclusive local offers ranging from 2-for-1 gin tastings to discounted bungee jumps. Local businesses, such as Perth Distillery, are enthusiastic about the program’s focus on exclusive offers, recognizing its potential to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
Iain McDonald, co-founder of Perth Distillery, expressed optimism about the program’s ability to drive foot traffic and increase brand visibility, especially in light of the challenges posed by the pandemic. He believes that attractive offers facilitated by Mi Rewards will incentivize customers to explore local businesses like Perth Distillery, ultimately benefiting both customers and businesses alike.
