Meliá Hotels InternationalMeliá Hotels International, Spain’s leading hotel group and the third largest in Europe, has once again been recognized as one of the world’s most trusted companies by customers, employees, and investors. For the second consecutive year, the Group has been included among the 1,000 most trustworthy companies across multiple industries and categories in 20 countries, ranking third globally in the “Travel, Dining & Leisure” category.
Trust has become an increasingly valuable intangible asset for companies and their customers. It offers reassurance about the product or experience being purchased and fosters stronger loyalty and repeat business. Likewise, investor confidence is key to a company’s financial performance, and in today’s complex labour market, earning the trust of employees is more critical than ever. To spotlight the companies that have earned the highest levels of trust, Newsweek has partnered with Statista—an internationally recognized provider of business statistics and rankings—to publish this prestigious list, available in full on Newsweek’s website.
“It’s an honour for Meliá to once again be featured among the World’s Most Trustworthy Companies in the 2025 ranking,” said Gabriel Escarrer Jaume, Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International. “As a company rooted in strong family values, the trust we’ve built over our 70-year history is the foundation of our relationships with customers, investors, hotel owners, and partners—and it’s increasingly what sets us apart.”
The companies featured in the 2025 ranking were selected through an independent survey of over 65,000 participants across 23 industries in 20 target countries. Nearly 200,000 evaluations were conducted, with respondents assessing companies they were familiar with and that operated in their own country. The evaluation focused on three key dimensions: investor trust, customer trust, and employee trust. For companies that received sufficient evaluations, a social media listening analysis was also conducted, examining sentiment across digital platforms and categorizing mentions as positive, neutral, or negative.
