This year Skytrax held the 25th version of the World Airline Awards in Paris, known as the “Oscars of the aeronautical industry”, where passengers from all over the world participate each year in the largest airline satisfaction survey.

Once again, in this 2024 edition, LATAM was recognized in two categories, as Best Airline in South America for the fifth consecutive time, and Best Airline Staff in South America for three years in a row.

“It is a great honor to receive the Best Airline in South America category for the fifth consecutive year and we are proud of our staff who, for the third consecutive year, achieve the Best Airline Staff in South America category. These recognitions are taken with great responsibility by the entire group, and motivate us to remain committed to the experience of each of our customers,” said Paulo Miranda, Chief Customer Officer at LATAM Airlines Group.

Recently, LATAM has implemented various improvements in its service, which has motivated passengers to choose us as winners in these categories. These include the constant renewal of cabins with the addition of new ergonomic seats that improve travel comfort, as well as the continuous updating of the LATAM Play in-flight entertainment platform, with a constant incorporation of content, functionalities and exclusive titles from platforms such as Paramount+, Max and Disney+.

In addition, the culinary offer has a recipe program that emphasizes the cultural-gastronomic heritage of South America, led by female chefs who represent the different regional cuisines on board. This initiative, which seeks to give visibility to female chefs who are rapidly growing in the gastronomic scene of their respective regions, aims to enrich the passengers’ onboard experience with the authentic flavors of the different South American countries. So far, 10 chefs have already presented their dishes, of which six correspond to Brazil, two to Chile, one to Peru and one to Ecuador.

At the same time, work has been done to invest in the digitalization of people’s experiences, focusing on self-service mechanisms inside and outside the airport, as well as in the development of customer relationship programs focused on empathy and customization of every interaction with passengers.

“It is impressive to see the sustained success that LATAM has had in recent years, and that is reflected in these World Airline Awards 2024 by obtaining the awards for Best Airline in South America for the fifth consecutive year, and Best Airline Staff in South America for three consecutive years. Without a doubt, it is an important achievement for the LATAM community, and one that benefits the experience of its passengers,” said Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax.

These awards are added to two other recognitions announced that LATAM Group received a few days ago: “Best sustainability on board”, at the Onboard Hospitality Awards 2024, for the second consecutive year, and where it also received the “Highly Commended” mention for the categories “Best Inflight Entertainment” and “Catering Innovation of the Year”; and “Outstanding Food Service by a Carrier for South America 2024”, which was awarded by Pax International Awards, for the fifth year.
