LATAM to increase by 20% the number of flights on 28 routes in Brazil. The company is to add 165 weekly flights between 24 Brazilian airports form 2Q 2024.

“We continue to grow stronger and committed to helping to democratize aviation in Brazil. The increase in demand and the sustainability of our operation allow us to increase flights to benefit those who still need to plan their business or leisure trip this year”, ready Aline Mafra, Director of Sales and Marketing at LATAM Brazil.

The national routes with the most increases for LATAM Brasil in the second quarter of 2024 are:

  • Rio de Janeiro/Santos Dumont-São Paulo/Guarulhos (from 125 to 141 flights per week),
  • Florianópolis-São Paulo/Guarulhos (from 28 to 35 flights per week),
  • Fortaleza-São Paulo/Guarulhos (from 35 to 45 flights per week),
  • Brasília-São Paulo/Congonhas (from 79 to 87 flights per week),
  • Belo Horizonte/Confins-São Paulo/Guarulhos (from 35 to 42 flights per week),
  • Vitória-São Paulo/Guarulhos (from 28 to 35 flights per week),
  • Foz do Iguaçu-São Paulo/Guarulhos (from 21 to 28 flights per week),
  • Cuiabá-São Paulo/Congonhas (from 7 to 14 flights per week),
  • Brasília-Rio de Janeiro/Galeão (from 14 to 21 flights per week) and
  • Uberlândia-São Paulo/Congonhas (from 7 to 11 flights per week).

The states with the biggest increases (excluding São Paulo and Distrito Federal, where LATAM’s hubs are located in Brazil) are Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo (both with 21 new weekly flights), Santa Catarina (19 new weekly flights), Minas Gerais and Paraná (16 new weekly flights), and Ceará (14 new weekly flights).

LATAM is committed to expanding Brazilians’ access to aviation. In 2023 alone, when it transported 33 million domestic passengers in the country, LATAM saw its operations grow by 8% throughout the national territory, compared to 2022. The advance has a reason: in the last year, 15 of the 17 new planes received directly from the factory by the LATAM group were directed to its Brazilian operation.

In 2024, LATAM expects the arrival of more planes and a new growth of 7% to 9% in its domestic operations in Brazil, compared to 2023. In practice, more than 3 million of the company’s seats will be added in the country in the year.
