GLOExpanding a Southern icon with digital loyalty
Krystal, the heritage slider brand founded in 1932 and known across the U.S. South, continues its modernisation push as it expands into Texas, South Carolina, and Alabama. The launch of Club Krystal marks a major step in connecting digital ordering, payments, and rewards within a single guest experience.
“Our goal is to create moments that matter for our guests,” said Caroline Patheja, Senior Marketing Manager at Krystal. “That starts with recognising and rewarding them in ways that feel personal. We’ve already had great feedback on how intuitive the program is, and Punchh gives us the tools to personalise and scale as we grow.”
How Club Krystal works
-
Earning: Members earn 10 points per $1 spent, redeemable for menu rewards and exclusive offers.
-
Access: Available via the Krystal mobile app and website.
-
Extras: Saved-payment capability and subscription features planned for future rollout.
-
Integration: Part of PAR Technology’s Engagement suite, linking loyalty, marketing, ordering, and guest data under one ecosystem.
PAR Technology CEO Savneet Singh said the partnership reflects a broader shift in restaurant loyalty: “Loyalty today is more than points and discounts — it’s about creating personalised experiences that drive real revenue. With Punchh, Krystal is launching a scalable strategy to foster genuine loyalty in a competitive QSR market.”
The bigger picture
PAR Punchh, which supports over 275 restaurant brands and manages more than 430 million users globally, sits at the center of PAR’s unified cloud ecosystem that also includes Brink POS and Data Central. Its AI-driven segmentation tools allow brands like Krystal to craft offers tailored to customer preferences and behaviour in real time.
Industry analysts note that Krystal’s move mirrors a wider quick-service trend: regional chains are turning to enterprise-grade loyalty tech to compete with national players like McDonald’s Rewards and Wendy’s Rewards. A personalisation-first model is increasingly seen as essential to brand stickiness and higher average spend.
Industry spotlight
The launch of Club Krystal coincides with the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards, where loyalty and engagement technologies were front-and-centre. Companies such as VoCoVo, Sensei, and Zebra Technologies were recognised for advancing customer-experience innovation — underscoring how loyalty has become a key growth lever across retail and hospitality.
