Korean Air is set to open a newly renovated flagship lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on March 6, marking a major investment in its premium ground experience for international travelers.
The new facility, located in the Tom Bradley International Terminal (Terminal B), represents an investment of about 65 billion South Korean won (approximately $44 million). According to the airline, the renovation project took roughly 22 months to complete and significantly expands the size and capabilities of the lounge.

Larger flagship lounge for international passengers
The upgraded lounge covers approximately 1,675 square meters (18,030 square feet) across two floors, making it nearly 30% larger than the previous facility. Once open, it will become Korean Air’s largest directly operated lounge outside South Korea.
The sixth floor will house the First Class Lounge, designed for the airline’s most premium passengers. This area will include two private suites, an à la carte dining service with freshly prepared dishes, and a full-service bar.
Business amenities and dining areas
The fifth floor will feature the Miler Club and Prestige Class Lounge, catering primarily to business class travelers and elite frequent flyers. This space includes an open kitchen station, lounge seating areas, and dedicated business workspaces for passengers who need to work before their flights.
Both floors will also provide shower facilities, allowing long-haul travelers to refresh during connections or before departure.
Access for SkyTeam premium travelers
Access to the lounge will be available to eligible passengers flying with Korean Air as well as premium customers traveling with partner airlines in the SkyTeam alliance.
Los Angeles is one of Korean Air’s most important gateways in North America, with multiple daily flights connecting the city to Seoul and other destinations in Asia.
Part of broader brand and network upgrades
The renovated LAX lounge is also significant because it is the first overseas lounge upgraded ahead of Korean Air’s planned integration with Asiana Airlines. The merger between the two carriers is expected to reshape South Korea’s aviation sector and create one of Asia’s largest airline groups.
As part of its broader premium strategy, Korean Air also plans to unveil a renovated lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport later in 2026.
The investment reflects the airline’s effort to enhance its premium travel experience and strengthen its presence in key global hubs, particularly in North America, which remains one of its most important international markets.
