IndiGoIndiGo, India’s largest airline, has teamed up with IDFC FIRST Bank to introduce a new co-branded credit card that stands out in the market for its dual-network functionality. Through a single application, customers receive both a Mastercard and a RuPay card, operating under one shared credit limit, a single statement, and consolidated payment. This innovation ensures global acceptance while also enabling UPI-linked payments across millions of merchants in India.
The card is designed to appeal to a wide customer base by offering two ways to join: either through a ₹4,999 joining fee or by placing a ₹1 lakh fixed deposit, which makes the product accessible even to those without a strong credit history. This dual access model strengthens inclusivity and broadens IndiGo’s and IDFC FIRST Bank’s reach among travellers and first-time credit users alike.
At the heart of the product is IndiGo’s BluChip loyalty currency, with members able to earn rewards on everyday spending as well as accelerated accruals on IndiGo flights. Cardholders can earn up to 22 BluChips per ₹100 spent on bookings made directly through IndiGo’s website or app. Additional earnings apply across categories like dining, entertainment and utilities, while milestone rewards of up to 25,000 BluChips a year incentivise sustained engagement. Welcome benefits include BluChips and meal vouchers, with further bonuses for early spending activity.
Beyond rewards, the card incorporates travel-friendly features such as competitive foreign exchange markups, travel insurance, and cancellation protection. Together, these benefits create tangible value for frequent flyers as well as everyday spenders looking to convert purchases into future travel experiences.
By combining dual network flexibility, strong loyalty rewards, and inclusive access, IndiGo and IDFC FIRST Bank are not only enhancing their partnership but also redefining what a co-branded airline credit card can deliver. For IndiGo, the move integrates BluChips more deeply into daily life, while for IDFC FIRST Bank it represents a distinctive offering in a highly competitive co-branded credit card market.
This launch highlights a growing trend: co-branded cards are no longer just about airline perks, but about blending payments, loyalty, and lifestyle into a seamless proposition that meets customers wherever they are—whether booking flights, paying bills, or shopping locally with UPI.
