IHG Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Delta Air Lines to give small and midsized business travelers a fast track to elite hotel loyalty status through linked SME programs.

IHG® Hotels & ResortsIHG Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Delta Air Lines to expand loyalty benefits for small and midsized enterprises (SMEs), enhancing travel perks across both brands’ business-focused programs.
The collaboration links Delta’s Business Traveler program, launched last year and open to all business travelers, with IHG’s Business Edge program, introduced in 2018 to provide SMEs with hotel discounts and perks.
Under the agreement, members of Delta’s program who also enroll in Business Edge will receive an accelerated path to elite status in IHG’s One Rewards loyalty program.

Gold Elite status: Earned after just two qualifying nights at a participating IHG property.

Platinum Elite status: Earned after an additional three qualifying nights, for a total of five.
By comparison, reaching Platinum Elite status typically requires 40 qualifying nights in a calendar year.
“This collaboration allows us to extend benefits to an even broader audience,” said Mark Sergot, IHG’s SVP of global sales, noting the company’s established presence in the SME travel space.
The move marks IHG’s second major airline tie-up targeting SME travelers this year. In early 2025, the hotel group announced a similar partnership with Singapore Airlines, signaling a broader strategy to strengthen loyalty offerings through airline alliances.
For SMEs, the partnership offers a streamlined way to maximize travel value across both hotel and airline bookings, while reinforcing IHG and Delta’s push to capture and retain the lucrative small-business travel segment.
