HyattHyatt Hotels Corp. has appointed consultant and luxury brand executive Marc Jacheet as group president of its Europe, Africa and Middle East region as part of a broader reshuffling of senior management roles, the company announced Wednesday.
Jacheet on July 1 will succeed Javier Águila in the role. Águila, who joined Hyatt in the role in 2022, on that date will become Hyatt’s chief growth officer, tasked with overseeing “Hyatt’s overall growth through development strategy and execution as well as transactions,” according to the company. Águila on March 1 also will become president of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection.
Águila will succeed Jim Chu as chief growth officer. Chu effective July 1 will become Hyatt’s head of owner relations.
All three executives will report to Hyatt president and CEO Mark Hoplamazian. The company in a statement said the moves were designed to “strengthen Hyatt’s commitment to becoming a more brand-focused organization,” citing the five portfolios into which the company recently organized its many brands. Hoplamazian in a statement added that shifting the executives’ responsibilities “demonstrates the agile leadership capabilities we are developing for the future.”
Jacheet most recently served as a senior advisor for Promus Capital and Boston Consulting Group and previously served as CEO of De Beers Brands for the diamond firm The De Beers Group. He’s also served as president of EMEA for jewelry brand Tiffany & Co. and also has worked for luxury brands Louis Vuitton and Moët & Chandon, according to his LinkedIn page.
Jacheet “brings extensive global operations experience from leading consumer brands, a fresh perspective on our industry, and importantly, aligns closely with our culture,” according to Hoplamazian.
