Hilton will roll out a revamped Honors program in January 2026, lowering the requirements for Gold and Diamond status while keeping Silver unchanged. The company is also introducing Diamond Reserve, a new top tier offering premium perks such as guaranteed late checkout, club access, dedicated support, and confirmable suite upgrades.

Hilton Worldwide is making major updates to its Hilton Honors loyalty program beginning in January 2026, including the debut of a new top-tier status level and reduced qualification thresholds for several existing tiers.

Under the revised structure, travelers will be able to reach Gold status after staying 25 nights per year, a significant drop from the previous 40-night requirement. Diamond status will likewise become more accessible, requiring 50 nightsinstead of the former 60-night threshold. The entry-level Silver tier remains unchanged at 10 nights, and all current benefits for Silver, Gold, and Diamond are set to continue.

The most notable change is the introduction of Diamond Reserve, a premium tier aimed at Hilton’s most frequent and highest-spending guests. To qualify, members must complete 80 nights annually and spend $18,000 with Hilton properties. Diamond Reserve unlocks a suite of elevated benefits, including guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, priority access to a dedicated customer service team, and complimentary entry to Hilton’s premium club lounges.

One of the standout perks is a Confirmable Upgrade Reward, which allows members to lock in an upgrade—up to a one-bedroom suite—at the time of booking for stays of up to seven nights. After using the initial certificate, members can earn a second upgrade after hitting additional milestones such as 120 nights or 30,000 tier-qualifying points. The upgrade benefit applies to both paid and award stays at participating hotels.

Hilton executives say the new premium level was created to better recognize travelers who consistently choose the brand. The revised thresholds for Gold and Diamond are also intended to make elite status more attainable for loyal guests while still reserving the highest perks for those with the most significant travel activity.

The announcement comes as other major hotel groups, including Choice Hotels, have also begun introducing new upper-tier elite levels, signaling an industry-wide shift toward rewarding top spenders and frequent travelers with more personalized and exclusive benefits.
