On Tuesday (19), GOL Airlines and Turkish Airlines announced a partnership involving both flight sharing and loyalty programs.

Turkish Airlines operates daily flights from Istanbul, Turkey, to São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport. The codeshare agreement will enable Turkish Airlines to list its flight codes in GOL’s sales systems.

This partnership will facilitate connections from Guarulhos Airport to all destinations served by GOL within Brazil, as well as to South American cities like Montevideo, Lima, Santiago, and Asunción.

GOL customers will be able to connect to Turkish Airlines flights from Guarulhos to destinations in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East via Istanbul. Additionally, passengers from both airlines will earn points on Turkish Airlines’ Miles&Smiles and GOL’s Smiles loyalty programs. Soon, customers will be able to redeem tickets across both airlines and enjoy the benefits.

“As Turkish Airlines, we are pleased to launch the codeshare and FFP cooperation with GOL in São Paulo, which will offer passengers unique travel alternatives via Istanbul to Brazilian domestic routes. They will enjoy the benefits of the FFP with new flight options and a more convenient travel experience. We also hope to contribute to trade relations between our respective countries,” said Bilal Ekşi, CEO of Turkish Airlines.

Paulo Kakinoff, President of GOL, stated, “As two leading airlines in Brazil and Turkey, GOL and Turkish Airlines offer the best experience to their passengers. It is a pleasure for us to enable Turkish Airlines passengers to access the greatest number of flights and destinations in Brazil through this agreement. This will be another opportunity for the world to discover the beauties of Brazil through the various Turkish Airlines connections to GOL flights across the country.”
