Frontier AirlinesFrontier Airlines plans to revamp its Frontier Miles loyalty program next year, changing the way customers are rewarded based on their spending and simplifying the process of achieving status.
Under the updated rules, Frontier Miles members will receive a minimum of 10 miles for every dollar they spend on flights, baggage, seat selections, and bundles. The mileage multipliers will increase as customers move up in status levels, with the highest level offering a 20-times multiplier. This is a departure from the current system where Frontier Miles members earn one mile toward their status for each mile they fly.
In a significant shift, Frontier is introducing a fourth status level and renaming its existing status tiers with names that closely resemble those used by Delta, which faced customer backlash after making changes to its SkyMiles loyalty program.
Customers will now attain the new entry-level Silver status with 10,000 miles, which means it can be achieved with just $1,000 in expenditures. Silver status comes with benefits such as the ability to select seats at booking, no change or cancellation fees for all travelers on the booking if changes are made at least a week before travel, and Zone 2 priority boarding.
The other three status levels of Frontier Miles will be renamed as Gold, Platinum, and Diamond, and status will be achieved at the 20,000, 50,000, and 100,000-mile levels, respectively.
Frontier is also improving the benefits associated with the top three status levels. Gold status will offer priority boarding and priority customer care, as well as no change or cancellation fees for everyone on the booking.
Platinum status will provide new benefits like the ability to gift Silver status to one person, a free checked bag, a free carry-on bag, and a free premium seat assignment for all travelers on the booking.
For Diamond status, customers will have the opportunity to gift Gold status to one person and receive a second checked bag for everyone on the booking.
Additionally, Frontier is introducing a fast track to Gold Status for 2024, allowing anyone who spends $3,000 on the Frontier World Mastercard between now and the end of February to achieve this status.
Furthermore, Frontier will award a bonus mile for every mile flown on bookings made through the end of the year as part of the revamped Frontier Mileage program.
