The world’s leading low-cost airline and the top LCC in the Middle East, reported a remarkable performance in the first half of 2024, with over 7 million passengers, marking a 47% growth and a 37% increase in seat capacity for domestic and international flights compared to the same period in 2023. This growth follows the recent acquisition of 160 Airbus aircraft.

Bander Almohanna, CEO and Managing Director of flynas, attributed this success to strategic growth plans that involve fleet upgrades, capacity expansions, and global network enhancements. The airline’s strategy, “We Connect the World to the Kingdom,” aligns with the National Civil Aviation Strategy, aiming to link Saudi Arabia with 250 international destinations, serve 330 million passengers, and host 100 million tourists annually by 2030. Almohanna highlighted the airline’s role in the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP), facilitating access to the Two Holy Mosques and transporting over 100,000 pilgrims from 20 countries in the first half of the year.

Flynas’s increased seat capacity to domestic summer destinations underscores its commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s tourism sector, in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The airline also expanded its presence in key domestic, regional, and international markets, including partnerships with other airlines.

In 2024, flynas added six A320neo aircraft to its fleet, creating hundreds of new jobs for Saudis and launching a new batch of the Future Pilots program, aiming to fully nationalize the co-pilot position. The Future Engineers Program also accepted 22 Saudis into its second batch, contributing to the nationalization of aircraft engineering and maintenance roles.

Flynas operates over 1,800 weekly flights to more than 70 domestic and international destinations and has transported over 78 million passengers since its inception in 2007. The recent addition of 25 new A320neo aircraft in the last 18 months expands its fleet to 60 aircraft, marking a significant step towards achieving its ambitious growth goals.
