The airline is offering three services initially: Departure (luggage picked up and collected at destination), Arrival (bags delivered to the final destination), and Door-to-door (seamless luggage experience from check-in at home to delivery at the final destination). The services are available for flights across Europe from London Gatwick and Geneva.

easyJet has partnered with baggage collection and delivery specialist, Airportr, to launch a new luggage service for passengers at London Gatwick and Geneva airports. The service allows customers to check in their luggage from a designated pick-up point, such as their home or hotel, and have it delivered to their destination.

Research conducted by easyJet revealed that 40% of its customers expressed interest in such services when traveling to and from flights. The airline aims to cater to this demand by introducing three services at London Gatwick and Geneva airports:

  1. Departure Service: Passengers flying from either London Gatwick or Geneva can now check in their bags from a designated pick-up point, such as their home, office, or hotel. The bags will be collected by an accredited driver and later retrieved from the baggage belt at the destination.

  2. Arrival Service: Customers arriving at Geneva from any easyJet airport can opt for a delivery of their bags to their final destination, whether it be their home or hotel.

  3. Door-to-door Service: For those flying from London Gatwick to Geneva, a comprehensive door-to-door service is available. This seamless luggage experience allows customers to check in their bags from home and have them delivered to their final destination.

Notably, easyJet is the first airline to include this service in a bundle fare, meaning that FLEXI fare customers flying from London Gatwick and Geneva will have the service automatically included in their booking.

Sophie Dekkers, Chief Commercial Officer at easyJet, expressed excitement about the introduction of Airportr’s services, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to providing customers with more choices for a convenient and innovative travel experience, whether for business or leisure.

Randel Darby, CEO of Airportr, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, considering the increasing priority travelers place on speed and convenience. The partnership aims to support easyJet’s mission of getting customers through the airport more efficiently while delivering an enhanced experience for those traveling with baggage.

Since 2016, Airportr has collected over 250,000 bags and sports equipment, delivering them to various destination airport baggage reclaims globally. The new baggage collection and delivery service complement easyJet’s recent initiatives, such as the Twilight Bag Drop, aimed at making the overall travel experience more accessible and customer-friendly.
