Announced in autumn 2024, Air France’s pioneering in-flight wifi service is now operational. The company is set to equip the fifth aircraft in its fleet with high-speed wifi, allowing passengers to enjoy a free, quality internet connection that is stable, fast, and secure. With this innovation, Air France is the first major European airline to offer such a service on board. It plans to offer this service on 30% of its fleet by the end of the year and throughout its fleet by the end of 2026.

This new service is completely free in all travel cabins and is easily accessible by logging into your Flying Blue account*. Two Embraer 190 and two Airbus A220 were equipped with high-speed wifi a few days ago. This week, an Airbus A350 will be equipped with this technology, marking its introduction on the long-haul network. Representing a major step in the airline’s move upmarket, Air France is progressively rolling out this offer across the entire fleet, including, for the first time, its regional aircraft.

During the flight, customers on board equipped aircraft can easily stay in touch with loved ones, follow global news in real time, stream TV, films and series, and even play multiplayer video games. This new service can be accessed via smartphones, tablets and laptops, and supports connecting multiple devices simultaneously.

Customers can access the service by logging in to their Flying Blue account*, the Air France-KLM group’s frequent flyer programme. Those without a Flying Blue account can create an account directly on board for free in just a few clicks.

Air France will offer high-speed wifi on board 30% of its fleet by the end of the year and throughout its fleet by the end of 2026. During this transitional period, the company will continue to offer an in-flight internet connection on board aircraft not yet equipped with high-speed wifi – a free “messaging” pass for Flying Blue members and a paid option** for other uses.

To provide this exceptional service, Air France has partnered with Starlink, the global leader in connectivity. Starlink offers high-speed, low-latency internet, powered by a vast network of satellites in low-Earth orbit to provide reliable in-flight connectivity.

*La Première customers continue to connect directly.

** free offer for Flying Blue Ultimate and La Première customers.
