Changi Airport provides a service allowing passengers on layovers in Singapore to rent bicycles. As part of a year-long initiative, travelers are granted complimentary access to a bicycle for two hours, enabling them to explore outdoor attractions near the airport, such as the Jurassic Mile and nearby beaches along the East Coast of Singapore.
Responding to the growing demand for sustainable and authentic travel experiences, the Changi Airport Connector cycling path connects to Singapore’s broader park connector network. This pathway allows visitors to discover various local sights, including the popular fishing spot Bedok Jetty, the East Coast Lagoon Hawker Centre, and neighboring residential areas like Bedok and Siglap.
Ang Siew Min, Senior Vice President of Airport Operations Services at Changi Airport, emphasized that this effort reflects Changi’s commitment to delighting passengers during their time at the airport or in Singapore. The aim is for passengers to enjoy the tropical outdoors of the airport and explore the unique attractions surrounding it, extending beyond the offerings within the indoor terminal.
Passengers with additional time and a desire for further exploration can opt to extend their bicycle rentals by paying a fee. Changi Airport Group has designed four different routes, ranging from two to six hours, providing recommendations for diverse experiences catering to various interests. These experiences include immersing in local culture and cuisine or discovering the charming aspects of different parts of Singapore.
Upon returning the bicycles at the airport, passengers have access to pay-per-use shower facilities and an outdoor café and bar, offering convenience for refreshment and relaxation before continuing their journey. Advanced booking for this service is now available on Changi Airport’s website.
