Burger King is giving its loyalty program a royal refresh. The fast-food chain announced a major revamp of its “Royal Perks” rewards program, simplifying its structure and making it easier for customers to earn and redeem rewards.

Under the updated system, Burger King is reducing the number of membership tiers from six to four, aiming to make the program clearer and more rewarding for everyday guests. The change means members can move up levels — and unlock perks — more intuitively, without the confusion of too many tier distinctions.

Perhaps the biggest improvement comes in reward accessibility. The company is lowering the threshold for redemption, so customers can start claiming rewards sooner. For instance, the lowest tier now allows redemptions starting at 200 “crowns” — roughly equivalent to $20 spent — a meaningful drop from previous requirements.

By trimming complexity and speeding up the path to value, Burger King hopes to boost engagement and satisfaction among its loyal diners. The new setup aligns with a broader industry push to make loyalty programs simpler and more immediate — an approach McDonald’s, Starbucks, and other quick-service rivals have embraced in recent years.

The refreshed Royal Perks experience continues to offer members points (“crowns”) for every dollar spent, along with exclusive deals, free food offers, and bonus-earning opportunities through app and online orders.

Burger King stated that the redesign reflects direct customer feedback, emphasizing that loyalty should feel rewarding, not confusing. The brand plans to continue enhancing its digital ecosystem as part of its “Reclaim the Flame” growth strategy, which includes improving guest experience and modernizing its loyalty platform.

With the revamp now rolling out nationwide, Royal Perks members can expect simpler tracking, faster rewards, and a smoother digital experience — all designed to keep Burger King fans coming back for more Whoppers.
