Brussels Airlines will officially join the existing Lufthansa Group–Singapore Airlines joint venture on October 26, 2025, marking a significant expansion of the partnership that connects Europe and Southeast Asia. The move will allow customers to book flights between Brussels and Singapore using Brussels Airlines’ flight code on Singapore Airlines–operated services.

Expanded Partnership

The Lufthansa–Singapore Airlines joint venture, established in 2017, currently includes Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, and Singapore Airlines. With Brussels Airlines’ inclusion, the cooperation will now extend to Belgium, offering greater travel flexibility and network reach for passengers.

Under the new arrangement, Brussels Airlines’ SN code will be added to Singapore Airlines’ Brussels–Singapore flights, creating smoother booking experiences, better-coordinated schedules, and expanded connection opportunities. The collaboration also aims to strengthen intermodal travel options, linking Brussels to other European cities via rail and regional air connections.

Strategic Importance

The joint venture enables participating airlines to coordinate flight schedules, pricing, and sales strategies on key Europe–Asia routes. For Brussels Airlines, joining the partnership deepens its integration within the Lufthansa Group and significantly enhances its access to Asian markets.

For Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines, Brussels Airlines’ addition brings greater market coverage in the Benelux region, reinforcing their competitive position in long-haul travel between Europe and Asia.

Industry Context

This expansion reflects a broader trend in global aviation toward deeper strategic alliances. Joint ventures allow airlines to share revenues, align capacity, and offer travelers more seamless itineraries. As demand for intercontinental travel continues to recover, partnerships like this one are becoming crucial in shaping the future of global airline networks.
