Brussels Airlines has revealed that Glenn Verhasselt — head chef at the two-Michelin-star restaurant Sir Kwinten — will become its new “Star Chef” starting January 2026. From that date, Business Class passengers on long-haul flights will be treated to exclusive menus developed by Verhasselt and his team, blending seasonal Belgian ingredients with creative culinary techniques.

Verhasselt, recognized for his refined modern Belgian cuisine, has earned accolades including “Young Top Chef of Flanders” in 2020 and “Chef of the Year 2025” by Gault&Millau. He was also recently appointed Provost of the chefs at the gastronomic society Prosper Montagné.
Under the airline’s long-running Belgian Star Chefs programme — which began in 2013 — Verhasselt becomes the sixteenth chef to participate. He succeeds last year’s chef, Arabelle Meirlaen.
The specially crafted menu for Business Class will rotate every three months and includes starters, mains and desserts. It aims to deliver a haute cuisine experience at 10,000 meters, combining Belgian classics with innovative culinary touches.
To complement the meals, beverage choices will be curated by experts — including wine selections by Master of Wine Jan De Clercq, Belgian beers selected by beer sommelier Sofie Vanrafelghem, and cheeses from Van Tricht.
With this collaboration, Brussels Airlines aims to reinforce its role as a “flying ambassador” for Belgium — sharing the country’s culinary excellence with passengers worldwide.
