BA expands number of flights - adds service to Belgrade and Riga

GLOBritish Airways plans to expand its London Heathrow route network by adding new destinations, namely Riga in Latvia and Belgrade in Serbia. This expansion will give travelers the option to choose from a selection of 120 short-haul destinations available from British Airways’ hub at London Heathrow.
Starting from October 29, 2023, British Airways will introduce a three-times weekly flight service from London Heathrow to both Riga and Belgrade. The flights will utilize A320 and A321 aircraft, and the starting return fares will be as low as UKP73.
Riga, which holds the distinction of being the largest city in Latvia and the Baltic states, is renowned for its vibrant food market, diverse architecture, and abundant green spaces.
The service to Belgrade, Serbia, will commence from October 31, 2023, also operating three times a week using A320 and A321 aircraft. Return fares for this route will begin at UKP105.
Furthermore, British Airways will launch a twelve-times weekly service to Cologne, Germany, starting October 30, 2023, utilizing a combination of A320 and A321 aircraft. The return fares will start at £92.
BA Cityflyer, a subsidiary of British Airways based at London City Airport, will introduce a weekly flight to Milan Linate Airport (LIN) starting November 5, 2023. This will complement the existing flights from London Heathrow. Flights will operate on Sundays using Embraer 190 aircraft, and fares will start at UKP112.
During the winter season, travelers can also enjoy weekly flights from Heathrow to Turin, Italy, commencing on December 10, 2023. This will complement the current daily service from London Gatwick by BA Euroflyer, another subsidiary of British Airways based at Gatwick Airport. Return fares for this route will start at UKP120.
BA Cityflyer’s route to San Sebastian, Spain, will be extended into the winter season, offering direct flights on Thursdays and Sundays. This marks the first time this route will be available year-round.
Additionally, British Airways will continue operating flights to Ljubljana, Slovenia, throughout the winter season. The service will run four times a week, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The flights to Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) will be expanded to operate year-round with four weekly flights. This expansion comes after the route was initially launched in June 2023 to complement the existing service to Istanbul Airport (IST).
