Austrian Airlines- Onboarding in George possible at any time, applications from December 29
- After successful application, a digital card valid immediately will be issued
- The service portfolio of Austrian Miles & More cards has been expanded
Austrian Airlines, Austria’s largest airline and part of the Lufthansa Group, and Miles & More, the Lufthansa Group’s loyalty program, will be making a change to their credit card portfolio in Austria at the end of the year, as already communicated in detail. The new partner is Erste Bank und Sparkasse, one of Austria’s largest banking groups.
From December 29, 2025, Austrian Miles & More credit cards will be issued in combination with George, the multi-award-winning internet banking platform. Mastercard will remain on board as the payment service provider. From this date, the new credit cards can be applied for via George internet banking and at Erste Bank and Sparkasse branches. No account with Erste Bank and Sparkasse is required to apply for and use the Austrian Miles & More card and the associated George app.
To be ready to apply for the new credit cards, all you need is the George app, which is already available for download. During the onboarding process, customers are prepared for the actual application. This requires an EU passport or an ID card with a chip. This ensures a smooth transition between providers. Alternatively, business customers can apply online at www.sparkasse.at.
To ensure that the credit limit for using the new credit card remains the same as for the previous credit card issued by card complete Service Bank AG, existing customers only need to upload one of the last three statements from their current Austrian Miles & More credit card during the credit card ordering process.
Once the application has been successfully completed, Austrian Miles & More Premiumcard customers will immediately receive a digital card and enjoy travel insurance from day one. This also applies to trips paid for with the existing Austrian Miles & More credit card from card complete Service Bank AG. These steps ensure that the Miles & More card can be used as a universal payment method.
These benefits are also available to Austrian Miles & More Business Premiumcard customers. The digital card will be activated once the necessary checks of the company documents have been completed.
This change is accompanied by an extensive revision and expansion of the product portfolio for the various card types. There are three card types in total, which differ in terms of the services they include: the Austrian Miles & More Premiumcard for private customers, the Austrian Miles & More Business Premiumcard, and the Austrian Miles & More Business Smartcard for business customers.
