Aldi Portugal has partnered with EDP Comercial to install and operate over 650 fast-charging stations at its stores across mainland Portugal, making it one of the largest electric mobility collaborations in the country and EDP’s most extensive project in the Iberian Peninsula.

AldiAldi Portugal has partnered with EDP Comercial to install and operate over 650 fast-charging stations at its stores across mainland Portugal, making it one of the largest electric mobility collaborations in the country and EDP’s most extensive project in the Iberian Peninsula.
EDP Comercial will equip all Aldi stores with parking facilities, including both current and upcoming locations, with chargers. This initiative also involves managing the existing 34 stations at Aldi stores, adding over 650 charging points to the public MOBI.E network, accessible via CEME cards.
The fast-charging stations will offer power between 60kW and 120kW, allowing Aldi customers to select their preferred charging speed while shopping.

Sustainability Focus
Aligned with the Aldi Nord Group’s sustainability goals, Aldi Portugal prioritizes climate protection, responsible sourcing, eco-friendly packaging, and reducing food waste. Aldi Nord aims to cut emissions by 55% across its group by 2030.
EDP Comercial, a key player in electric mobility, operates over 3,300 public charging points across 195 Portuguese municipalities. João Braz Teixeira, Aldi Portugal’s director of expansion, highlighted that the partnership supports both decarbonization efforts and promotes the use of electric vehicles, offering a more sustainable shopping experience.
