Airbnb is introducing three enhancements that include a selection of accommodation favorites, a revamped ratings and reviews system, and new listing management tools.

  1. Guest Favorites: Airbnb is introducing a curated collection of 2 million highly-rated homes on their platform. These homes are selected based on ratings, reviews, and reliability data gathered from over half a billion trips.

  2. Revamped Ratings & Reviews: Airbnb has redesigned its rating page to provide guests with a better understanding of the quality of each home. With over 371 million reviews submitted by guests, these reviews are crucial for assessing a property. The updated reviews also offer more information about the reviewers, such as their location, the duration of their stay, and whether they traveled with family, pets, or in a group.

  3. Listings Tab: Airbnb is launching new tools for hosts to manage their listings effectively and showcase the details that matter most to guests. These tools include an AI-powered photo tour. Providing comprehensive information about a listing can lead to up to a 20% increase in bookings. The Listings tab is designed to make it easier for hosts to manage their listings and highlight the important aspects of their homes.

These upgrades for guests and hosts were rolled out globally last week. Airbnb’s co-founder and CEO, Brian Chesky, emphasized that these changes aim to ensure that guests have a clear understanding of what to expect when booking accommodations.

Airbnb’s global supply continues to grow at double-digit rates across all regions, with the highest growth in Asia Pacific and Latin America. In the Asia-Pacific region, Airbnb’s business has fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels, with a 23% increase in total nights booked in Q3 2023 compared to Q3 2019.
