AirAsiaAirAsia is broadening its flight network between India and key destinations in Asia and Australia, connecting 16 Indian cities to over 130 destinations through Malaysia and Thailand.
To support its expansion in the Indian travel market, AirAsia is introducing an innovative “cinematic in-flight” experience for movie-goers in select Indian cinemas, showcasing its diverse and unique destinations as part of the cinema experience.
This initiative will boost AirAsia’s presence in more than 130 cinemas across 12 cities over the next six months. Movie-goers will have the opportunity to win AirAsia flights to various destinations in its network. AirAsia will also partner with over 130 local travel content creators to highlight destinations in Asia, Australia, and beyond, including bustling cities, serene beaches, historic landmarks, and vibrant local cultures.
In line with post-pandemic travel recovery, AirAsia has expanded its routes in India for 2024, offering direct connections to its major hubs in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Bangkok, Thailand, providing access to over 130 global destinations. The airline serves an extensive network of Indian cities, including Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Visakhapatnam, Trivandrum, Chennai, Tiruchirapalli, and Hyderabad, among others. New flights from Guwahati, Kozhikode, and Lucknow to Kuala Lumpur, and from Tiruchirapalli to Bangkok, will be launched soon.
Additionally, AirAsia has recently opened new routes to Almaty in Central Asia and Nairobi in Africa, facilitating affordable travel from Asia to these vibrant new destinations via a stopover in Kuala Lumpur.
Paul Carroll, AirAsia’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed gratitude for the support from Indian customers, making AirAsia the largest foreign airline by network in the country. Since early 2024, the airline has added 10 routes, bringing the total to 26 routes from India to Malaysia and Thailand. With over 20 daily flights from 16 cities, AirAsia is among the top airlines for weekly flights to and from India. The continued expansion of its network and fleet will offer guests great value fares, choice, and connectivity, leveraging one of the largest low-cost networks with over 130 destinations in Asia, Australia, and beyond.
