In preparation for its upcoming launch, AirAsia Cambodia has entered into a strategic collaboration with Oriental Bank Plc, a digital banking institution, to offer tailored payment solutions for flight bookings that cater to the needs of Cambodian travelers.

AirAsia’s customers in Cambodia can reserve flights and additional services through the AirAsia Superapp, which will soon be rebranded as AirAsia MOVE. Payments can be made through Oriental Bank’s versatile payment gateway service, which offers a wide range of payment options.

By broadening the payment choices available to local customers, AirAsia Cambodia and Oriental Bank aim to improve the payment experience, making it more convenient, faster, and more secure for AirAsia’s customers to conduct transactions throughout their journey. This partnership will provide millions of Cambodians with a wider range of payment options and will offer added convenience to Oriental Bank’s users when booking their flights.

Vissoth Nam, the CEO of AirAsia Cambodia, stated, “As we get ready to launch our services in Cambodia in the coming months, we are delighted to collaborate with Oriental Bank, a trailblazer in delivering innovative digital banking solutions as one of our initial financial service partners. With the changing landscape of consumer payments in Cambodia due to digital transformation, we believe that this partnership will deliver an outstanding user experience to local travelers while giving them more choices and opportunities. We remain committed to promoting innovation to revolutionize the way Cambodians travel in the future.”

Recently, AirAsia Cambodia signed a Merchant Service Agreement with Oriental Bank to be the primary payment processing service provider for the airline in Cambodia.

AirAsia Cambodia is a low-cost airline in Cambodia with its base at Phnom Penh International Airport. It is a collaboration between Malaysian AirAsia and the Cambodian local enterprise Sivilai Asia. The airline was officially launched on December 9, 2022, and is planning to commence operations in December 2023, with a possibility of starting as early as November.
