After a six-year break, Air Canada is set to introduce a new non-stop service from Toronto (YYZ) to Prague (PRG) starting in the spring of 2025. The announcement was made by Prague Airport via X (formerly known as Twitter), revealing that Canada’s largest airline will operate the new route from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport to Václav Havel Airport in Prague starting June 6, 2025, running until the end of September 2025.

This newly announced route marks Air Canada’s return to non-stop flights between Toronto and Prague for the first time since 2019.

The service will operate three times a week, with eastbound flights departing Toronto for Prague on Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays, and return flights from Prague to Toronto on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.

Flight schedules are as follows:

  • AC934 from Toronto (YYZ) to Prague (PRG), departing at 8:25 PM and arriving at 10:45 AM the following day
  • AC935 from Prague (PRG) to Toronto (YYZ), departing at 12:35 PM and arriving at 3:45 PM

Air Canada will operate the route using its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which features a three-class configuration: 20 seats in business class, 21 seats in premium economy, and 210 seats in economy. Business class passengers will enjoy lie-flat seats with direct aisle access, while the premium economy cabin offers larger seats with increased recline and extra legroom, along with complimentary wines, spirits, and meals.

Michaela Claudino, Director of Czech Tourism, expressed her enthusiasm for the new route on LinkedIn, calling it an “exciting development.” Claudino highlighted that the direct connection would further strengthen the ties between Canada and the Czech Republic, adding that she eagerly anticipates welcoming more Canadians to experience the beauty of Prague.

For travelers interested in booking this new route, it spans a non-stop distance of 4,165 miles according to Great Circle Mapper. This places the route within the second distance band on Aeroplan’s “Between North America and Atlantic zones” redemption chart.

As the flights fall under Air Canada’s dynamic pricing model, the redemption costs for Aeroplan points vary by class:

  • Economy: 40,000–70,000 Aeroplan points
  • Premium Economy: 60,000–90,000 Aeroplan points
  • Business Class: 70,000–180,000 Aeroplan points

A search across multiple dates shows that Economy Class fares typically range between 60,000–70,000 points for a one-way ticket. Premium Economy (Lowest) fares generally price around 110,000 points, while Business Class (Lowest) fares often reach the higher end of the dynamic range, nearing 185,000 points or more.

For those booking with cash, round-trip Economy fares start at approximately $1,500 CAD, while Business Class fares are around $5,000 CAD.

Travelers are encouraged to use an Aeroplan co-branded credit card to earn bonus points on Air Canada purchases and to enjoy travel insurance coverage on both cash and Aeroplan award bookings. The American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card, which offers 3 points per dollar spent on Air Canada purchases, is recommended. Alternatively, the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card, the CIBC Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card, or the American Express Aeroplan Card can be used, each offering 2 points per dollar spent.

The new Toronto–Prague route is already available for booking through Air Canada’s website and the Aeroplan search engine.
