Air Canada and Aspire partner to launch a new lounge concept at Toronto City Airport

The lounge is open to Aeroplan 50K, 75K, and Super Elite members, Star Alliance Gold members, Aeroplan premium co-brand cardholders, and travellers connecting to an Air Canada business class ticket.

Starting from June 1, 2023, Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) has introduced an Air Canada Cafe in collaboration with Aspire, the premium lounge brand of Swissport. This cafe serves as the sole lounge facility at the airport, giving Air Canada a distinct competitive advantage.

To provide some context, the first Air Canada Cafe was established at Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) in 2019. Unlike traditional airport lounges, this concept focuses primarily on food and drinks and allows guests to enjoy their refreshments within the lounge or take them to go.

The new Air Canada Cafe at Toronto City Airport occupies an area of 4,271 square feet and provides seating for 133 individuals. It is situated within the domestic departures terminal.

Within the lounge, guests can avail themselves of self-serve hot and cold buffets curated by local chefs, featuring freshly baked bread and pastries. There is also a selection of hot and cold grab-and-go items, as well as a central bar offering complimentary beverages and premium options available for purchase.

Additional amenities within the lounge include a meeting room, extra workspaces for making phone calls, wireless chargers at almost every seat, fast and reliable Wi-Fi, and televisions broadcasting news and sports.

Regarding access to the Air Canada Cafe at Toronto City Airport, the lounge operates under different rules compared to other Air Canada Cafe lounges due to its partnership with Aspire:

• Air Canada provides access to Aeroplan 50K, 75K, and Super Elite members, Star Alliance Gold members, Aeroplan premium co-brand cardholders, and passengers connecting to an Air Canada business class ticket.
• Aspire offers access to Priority Pass members, DragonPass members, guests who prebook through the Aspire website, and individuals who wish to purchase access on the day of departure at the lounge.
