Aegean and Saudia, the airline of Saudi Arabia, announced during the Arabian Travel Market 2024 (ATM) in Dubai, a new partnership for codeshare flights. This new commercial partnership will offer more travel options to passengers of both airlines, who will now benefit from a significantly enhanced flight schedule between Greece and Saudi Arabia.

In particular, with this agreement, passengers will have increased travel options for flights to and from Athens, Jeddah and Riyadh, while enjoying the unique travel experience and high travel services offered by both airlines. More specifically, through this agreement Aegean will add its code to Saudia flights to and from Jeddah and Riyadh, while S audia respectively will add its code to Aegean flights to and from Jeddah and Riyadh. The codeshare flights of the two companies start immediately, while tickets are already available for booking from the end of April through the airlines’ websites aegeanair.com and saudia.com or through travel agencies. The two airlines intend to gradually expand their cooperation for other routes.

Mr. Yannis Rasoglou, Director of Network and Airline Partnerships of Aegean, said: “We are very happy to announce the launch of the codeshare partnership with Saudia , the Saudi Arabian airline. After 10 years of presence of Aegean in Saudi Arabia with direct flights between Athens, Riyadh and Jeddah and through this agreement we will be able to further strengthen the options available to our passengers, but also facilitate the increase of passenger traffic between the two countries, which is our common goal. Aegean intends to continue strengthening its activity in Saudi Arabia by offering more flights throughout the year but also by upgrading the travel experience from 2026, after the order of the 4 new specially configured aircraft”.

Mr. Arved Von Zur Muehlen, Chief Commercial Officer of Saudia , said: “This new codeshare agreement with Aegean is an important step in expanding our network and offering an even greater range of travel options for our passengers. Going forward, Saudia passengers will be able to enjoy seamless connections to exciting new destinations, while also benefiting from new services such as digital transit visa and a reciprocal facilitation program. We are confident that this cooperation will contribute to the development of tourism in both Saudi Arabia and Greece.”

Aegean has been flying to and from Saudi Arabia since 2015, continuously increasing its activity in the wider Gulf region and has carried a total of 300 thousand passengers. This summer season, Aegean is further expanding its activity and through its main hub in Athens will connect Jeddah and Riyadh with popular Greek and European destinations with up to 9 weekly flights, while offering 7% more seats compared to 2023.
