GLO27 February 2026
Radisson Hotel Group has officially launched Radisson RED Auckland, marking both the brand’s vibrant introduction to Australasia and the Group’s long-awaited entry into the New Zealand market. Situated in the heart of Auckland’s Arts District, the hotel blends bold design, creative flair, and the country’s largest rooftop venue to deliver a striking new hospitality experience in one of the city’s most dynamic neighborhoods.
Located at 33 Lorne Street, the hotel is crowned by a lively rooftop bar connected to versatile event spaces, creating an elevated social hub above the city skyline. As one of the few pet-friendly hotels in Auckland, guests are welcome to bring their four-legged companions. With a design-forward philosophy and strong community focus, Radisson RED Auckland sets a fresh benchmark for contemporary stays in the Central Business District.
A Hotel Inspired by Auckland’s Creative Pulse
Designed to reflect the theatrical spirit of its Arts District surroundings, the hotel features 322 guestrooms and suites enriched with gallery-style art installations, immersive lighting, and sensory elements inspired by Auckland’s performance culture and urban energy.
Its prime location places guests steps away from leading attractions such as the Auckland Art Gallery, Civic Theatre, Sky Tower, Auckland Museum, Waiheke Island, and the rugged West Coast beaches. Surrounded by some of the city’s most popular cafés and restaurants, the hotel offers a convenient base for both leisure and corporate travelers.
Tim Cordon, Chief Operating Officer, MEA & SEAP at Radisson Hotel Group, described the opening as a major milestone for the Group’s expansion across Australasia and a defining moment for the upper-upscale Radisson RED brand, known for its playful and unconventional approach to hospitality.
Theatrical Design with Artistic Edge
Radisson RED Auckland brings drama and creativity into every corner of its design. Corridor lighting resembles stage spotlights, lounge seating draws cues from opera boxes, and contemporary installations reflect the city’s thriving gallery culture. Guestrooms evoke an actor’s dressing room, layered with expressive colors, curated artwork, textured materials, and mood-setting lighting.
Rooms on higher levels offer sweeping skyline views, while the Suite Panorama showcases expansive vistas across Auckland City, Albert Park, and the harbor.
Social Spaces Built for Connection
The hotel’s all-day dining restaurant and bar create an inviting space for relaxed gatherings. Soon, the Rooftop Restaurant & Bar — set to become New Zealand’s largest outdoor rooftop venue — will open, offering panoramic views of Auckland’s iconic Sky Tower. Designed as a lively destination for cocktails, celebrations, and curated events, the rooftop embodies RED’s “Share & Connect” philosophy, where food, music, and mixology encourage authentic interaction.
Guests can also make use of the fully equipped fitness center, open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
A Rooftop for Celebration and Creativity
With capacity for up to 219 guests in cocktail-style configuration, the rooftop doubles as a flexible event playground. The space can be divided into four naturally lit rooms, making it equally suited for weddings, live performances, pop-ups, corporate gatherings, and private celebrations.
Reinout Engel, General Manager of Radisson RED Auckland, emphasized that the hotel was conceived as more than accommodation — but as a creative gathering point where visitors and locals can immerse themselves in the energy, color, and culture of Auckland’s CBD.
