As the travel industry shifts from AI experimentation to real-world deployment, Amadeus is making a decisive move to scale meaningful AI use cases. The company has announced the acquisition of SkyLink, a New York-based AI-first technology firm specializing in orchestration and conversational automation.
The deal signals Amadeus’ intent to move beyond pilot projects and embed AI-driven capabilities directly into operational workflows across airlines, airports, hospitality providers and corporate travel.
From Proof Of Concept To Production
Founded to improve the corporate travel experience, SkyLink built a proprietary AI architecture and multilayer orchestration engine designed to integrate seamlessly into chat platforms. Its conversational interface allows travelers to book and service flights and hotels in seconds, while enterprises gain productivity improvements and cost savings.
With tens of thousands of bookings already processed, SkyLink’s technology demonstrates how AI can elevate speed, simplicity and user satisfaction in live production environments.
The acquisition aligns with Amadeus’ broader strategy of enabling smarter, more automated and faster travel bookings. By integrating SkyLink’s AI-native framework into its portfolio, Amadeus aims to assist both travelers and business users with conversational tools that simplify complex travel tasks.
Scaling AI Across A Global Infrastructure
Amadeus operates in more than 190 markets and processes billions of search requests and millions of transactions daily. That scale, combined with its integrated APIs and deep business logic, positions the company to deploy AI consistently and reliably at industrial volume.
SkyLink’s conversational technology complements this infrastructure by adding AI-powered orchestration layers that help employees access insights and maximize existing capabilities.
One immediate impact will be felt in corporate travel. The integration is expected to enhance solutions for Travel Management Companies (TMCs), strengthening Amadeus’ footprint in North America and expanding its corporate customer base.
Over time, the company plans to extend these AI-driven conversational capabilities beyond corporate travel, into airlines, airports, hospitality and the broader travel ecosystem—supporting travelers before, during and after their journeys.
Leadership Perspective
Atyab Bhatti, CEO and Co-Founder of SkyLink, said:
“Combining our AI-native technology with Amadeus’ scale and industry reach will allow us to deploy our technology faster and bring powerful new capabilities that benefit travelers and companies across the travel industry. It’s a pivotal time to deliver concrete AI solutions and, now with Amadeus, we can accelerate the next phase of travel innovation.”
Luis Maroto, President and CEO of Amadeus, emphasized the company’s structural advantages:
“Amadeus is the embedded and neutral execution layer for travel; built on three pillars: our global scale, the power of our integrated and deeply connected business logic, and our status as a trusted system of record in the industry since 1987. These pillars enable us to apply AI-driven capabilities consistently across airlines, airports, hotels, travel sellers and the wider travel ecosystem. Our technology is deeply integrated across the travel industry, connecting systems and workflows developed over decades. It combines industrial-grade reliability, operational resilience, and data-driven insight that enable us to deploy AI in real-world production environments globally. Together, these pillars reinforce Amadeus’ role as the trusted technology partner enabling innovation at scale and allowing AI to augment and reinforce the travel experience.”
A Long-Term AI Strategy
The SkyLink acquisition is part of Amadeus’ broader, long-term approach to applying AI where it delivers measurable operational value. The company continues to invest strategically and partner with leading technology firms while operating under a defined AI ethics framework to ensure responsible and secure deployment.
Amadeus is also refining how developers and partners access its AI capabilities, prioritizing secure, scalable interfaces aligned with real-world use cases.
As travel technology enters its next phase—where AI moves from experimentation to embedded functionality—this acquisition positions Amadeus to serve as a foundational platform for AI-driven transformation across the global travel ecosystem.
