A New Temple of Well-Being at Sea
At the heart of the first vessel, the Orient Express Corinthian, lies a 500-square-meter Guerlain Spa designed as a sanctuary of serenity, sensory immersion and ritual-based wellness. The space includes:
-
Four treatment suites, including a VIP double suite
-
A gentle sauna and soothing relaxation lounge
-
A barber studio and full beauty salon
-
A fitness studio
-
An open-air lap lane offering sweeping ocean views
Every detail, from the architecture to the ritual flow of treatments, is designed to evoke the poetry of travel and the natural rhythm of the sea.
Philippe Hetland-Brault, President of Orient Express Sailing Yachts, says the partnership merges “two French icons of elegance and savoir-faire” to reimagine the emotional and sensory dimensions of travel. “Our guests will experience voyages that nourish the soul and celebrate discovery,” he said.
Exclusive Guerlain Rituals Designed for the High Seas
For the first time in its history, Guerlain has created a full suite of spa rituals exclusively for Orient Express Sailing Yachts. Far more than traditional treatments, these experiences are conceived as sensory “odysseys” that mirror the movement of water, the warmth of the sun, and the pulse of exploration.
Signature journeys include:
Wave Serenity
A face-smoothing ritual using cool, wave-motion spoons paired with a soothing leg massage to induce deep calm.
Aqua Odyssey
A rebalancing treatment inspired by Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria gardens, designed to restore natural energy and circulation.
Soleil Plein Sud
A sun-care ritual to prepare, protect and rejuvenate skin before and after sun exposure.
Ocean Awakening
A dynamic experience alternating warm and cool sensations to awaken vitality and release tension.
Beyond individual treatments, Guerlain will curate holistic wellness retreats built around four pillars—nutrition, sleep, physical activity and mindfulness. Guests can expect meditations, movement sessions, sea-inspired spa rituals and immersive nature experiences guided by Guerlain wellness experts.
Gabrielle Saint-Genis, CEO of Guerlain, says the collaboration “redefines the art of luxury wellness,” creating rituals that “nourish both body and soul” while elevating the meaning of indulgence at sea.
A Floating Masterpiece: The Orient Express Corinthian
The Orient Express Corinthian, the first of the brand’s new sailing yachts, is itself a work of art and engineering. Measuring 220 meters, crowned with three monumental sails, and offering only 54 suites, the vessel blends grandeur with intimacy. Suites range from 43 m² to an expansive 225 m²—all offering panoramic sea views and timeless luxury.
Crafted over four years at France’s world-renowned Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard, the yacht showcases exceptional workmanship:
-
Interiors by architect Maxime d’Angeac, combining sculptural design, vintage-inspired lighting, curated art and custom materials
-
A 1,500-volume library
-
A cinema reminiscent of the golden age of film
-
A musical salon hosting intimate concerts and cultural gatherings
Dining on board will be led by multi-Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, whose inventive French cuisine aligns with the spa’s sensory philosophy.
Luxury Meets Environmental Responsibility
Orient Express has positioned its new fleet as a benchmark for sustainable luxury travel. The Corinthian incorporates:
-
Innovative wind-propulsion systems
-
Advanced energy-optimization technologies
-
Interior design and construction intended to reduce long-term environmental impact
This approach reflects a rising trend among luxury operators to pair indulgence with stewardship, aligning with global demand for more responsible travel.
Sailing Into a New Era of Wellness Tourism
Orient Express Corinthian will begin its inaugural Mediterranean season in June 2026, followed by voyages in the Caribbean starting October 2026. With the introduction of the Guerlain Spa and an elevated approach to wellness, culture and gastronomy, these new sailing yachts aim to redefine luxury ocean travel for a generation seeking meaningful, sensory-rich experiences.
More than a journey, this partnership creates a floating world where beauty, exploration, and well-being converge—an odyssey into the Art of Travel itself.
