GLOMorrisons, a popular supermarket chain, is experimenting with changes to its loyalty scheme rules to enable customers to collect points on purchases once again. The Morrisons More card, which enabled customers to earn points, was replaced by the My Morrisons app in May 2021, offering discounts and offers in-store instead. However, Morrisons is now testing a new version of its loyalty programme in more than 20 stores, featuring the reintroduction of points and More Card Fivers. The new programme, called Morrisons More, will require customers to earn 5,000 points to get to a More Card Fiver, which is worth £5. Additionally, shoppers can earn five points for every litre of fuel purchased at Morrisons forecourts. The supermarket chain plans to roll out the scheme nationally in early summer, following a successful test with staff. Morrisons spokesperson told The Mirror that the company is conducting a trial to listen to customer feedback before implementing changes nationally. Morrisons has not yet confirmed if it plans to reintroduce physical loyalty cards.
