Gucci is undergoing continual changes, and the imminent runway debut of their new creative director, Sabato de Sarno, is just weeks away. The renowned Italian luxury brand has announced the return of Alessio Vannetti as their new Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer, starting from September 4.

Vannetti, who previously served as Gucci’s Worldwide Communications Director from 2015 to 2019, has spent the past three and a half years as the Chief Brand Officer at Valentino. At Gucci, he will assume responsibilities previously held by Susan Chokachi, who is departing the company after a remarkable 25 years of service, most recently serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Brand and Client Officer.

Vannetti is set to take the helm of Gucci’s brand and client engagement team, overseeing various key aspects, including the company’s strategic direction for brand and image, marketing, communication, engagement efforts in the metaverse, and client relations. This announcement was made by the fashion house owned by Kering on Thursday evening.

During a transitional phase, Vannetti will report to Jean-François Palus, Gucci’s Chief Executive Officer. Palus praised Vannetti’s extensive experience within the fashion industry and his profound understanding of Gucci’s heritage, making him the ideal choice to lead our brand into the future.

Palus also emphasized that Vannetti will work closely with him, De Sarno, and the entire Gucci team to shape the next chapter of the brand, while simultaneously enhancing Gucci’s brand legacy, values, and image consistency.
