Cathay Pacific confirms Southeast Asia appointments

Cathay Pacific in Southeast Asia has unveiled changes to crucial management positions throughout the region to ensure the effective operation and expansion of their travel, lifestyle, cargo, and operational activities.

Cathay Pacific in Southeast Asia has unveiled changes to crucial management positions throughout the region to ensure the effective operation and expansion of their travel, lifestyle, cargo, and operational activities.

Regional Office Singapore Appointments:

– Jonathan Ng has been appointed as the new regional head of customer travel and lifestyle in Southeast Asia, taking over from Ray Fung, who now heads lifestyle strategy and partnerships in Hong Kong. Ng, who has been with Cathay Pacific since 2011, has held various significant roles in different markets, including Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. He previously served as the general manager of corporate planning at HK Express during the transition period following its acquisition by the Cathay Group.

– Ashish Kapur will assume the role of regional head of cargo, Southeast Asia, starting from September 1, 2023, succeeding Siddhant Iyer, who will become Head of Cargo Markets and Customer Solutions in Hong Kong. Kapur’s impressive career at Cathay Pacific spans over 22 years, during which he has held managerial positions in India, Africa, the Middle East, and Northern Europe. Before this appointment, he served as the area manager for Northern Europe, overseeing operations and teams in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, and Scandinavia.

– Dominic Perret will continue in his role as the regional general manager of Southeast Asia, responsible for overseeing all commercial, operational, and support functions across the seven Southeast Asian countries served by Cathay Pacific.

New Country Managers in Southeast Asia:

– Tony Sham is the new country manager for Indonesia, based in Jakarta. He takes over from Matthew Choi, who now serves as the general manager of corporate planning for HK Express. Sham boasts 34 years of experience with Cathay Pacific in various departments and locations, including airline planning, international affairs, and outposts such as Japan and Germany. Prior to this appointment, he held the position of regional head of customer travel and lifestyle for Northeast Asia in Tokyo.

– Vishnu Rajendran assumes the role of country manager for the Philippines, based in Manila, succeeding Donald Morris, who is now the country manager for Korea, stationed in Seoul. Vishnu has been part of Cathay Pacific since 2008 and has held roles in marketing, sales, port management, and, most recently, served as the area manager in the Middle East. In addition to these responsibilities, Vishnu also served as the acting country manager for South Africa & Indian Ocean and the acting country lead for Sri Lanka & Maldives.

– Robbie Blackwood takes on the role of country manager for Malaysia and Brunei, based in Kuala Lumpur, succeeding Roger Li, who is now a cadet pilot with Cathay Pacific. Robbie joined Cathay Pacific in 2018 and has gained experience across various departments and markets, including Hong Kong and Japan, with exposure to key areas like Cargo, Customer Experience, and Human Resources.

– Nicolas Masse has been appointed as the country manager for Vietnam & Cambodia, based in Ho Chi Minh City, taking over from Jason Choi, who is now the regional head of customer travel and lifestyle, Northeast Asia, stationed in Tokyo. Masse brings more than two decades of aviation industry experience to the role, having joined Cathay Pacific in 2007. He has previously held significant positions overseeing sales, marketing, and communications in both Europe and Asia. Prior to this appointment, he served as Cathay Pacific’s country manager for Korea.

– Keri Lui continues to hold the position of country manager for Thailand, based in Bangkok.

*In Southeast Asia, Cathay Pacific flies to Singapore, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur and Penang), Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket), Indonesia (Jakarta, Denpasar and Surabaya), the Philippines (Manila and Cebu), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi) and Cambodia (Phnom Penh).
