In addition to the Japanese Yen, the Travelex Money Card offers support for eight other foreign currencies, including the US Dollar, Euro, and Australian Dollar. This means that when travelers visit other countries, they have the flexibility to load their cards with Japanese Yen or any of the supported currencies and convert them to the local currency when conducting transactions.
One notable advantage of this card is that it operates independently from a bank account, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access compared to traditional credit or debit cards. Unlike many other foreign currency cards, the Travelex Money Card does not necessitate the submission of My Number verification documents. This convenient feature enables customers to swiftly and easily acquire the card, even on the day of their departure.
The acquisition of the card can be done through in-store purchases or by pre-ordering online and subsequently picking it up in-store. Furthermore, the card’s functionalities can be managed conveniently via the Travelex Money App. This application allows users to add currency, review their balance, access transaction history, and even suspend usage in the event of loss or theft.
Notably, the Travelex Money Card is already accessible to customers in the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. It replaces the previously offered Travelex Multi-currency Cash Passport in the Japanese market.
