In her new capacity, she will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the brand’s operations, including service delivery, port operations, marine and technology, customer service, digital platforms, change management, and business transformation.
Additionally, Bentubo leads Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Squad initiative, which is dedicated to the recruitment, support, and mentorship of female talent across the company’s operations, with the aim of preparing them for leadership positions. This promotion positions Bentubo as one of the few female leaders responsible for end-to-end functions within the cruise industry.
Having been a founding member of the Virgin Voyages team since 2016, Michelle Bentubo most recently held the position of Senior Vice President of Service Excellence, overseeing travel operations, crew training, and experiences for the brand. She has also served as Vice President of Technology and Operations.
Prior to her tenure with Virgin Voyages, Bentubo held executive roles at Bank of America, Walt Disney World, and Disney Cruise Line. This promotion follows a recent change in the company’s CEO, with Tom McAlpin stepping down and Nirmal Saverimuttu taking over the role, while McAlpin continues to serve as Chairman.
