Delta has begun the introduction of customized in-flight entertainment screens. This new system is currently undergoing testing on specific older-generation Airbus A321 planes. This technology aims to provide passengers with an experience similar to what they have on their own smart TVs. For instance, these screens will remember where passengers left off in a movie or TV show from previous flights and will also display lists of passengers’ favorite shows and movies.

To access this feature, passengers can log in using their SkyMiles account. SkyMiles members can use it for free in conjunction with Delta’s complimentary WiFi service. Delta has announced that this personalized experience will be rolled out across its fleet of around 125 Airbus A321-200s by the end of the year.

Personalization is just one component of Delta’s broader Delta Sync initiative, which includes the recent introduction of free WiFi on most of its mainline single-aisle aircraft. The carrier has also introduced the Sync Exclusives cross-promotional platform for seatback screens, offering features such as free Paramount+ trials and special deals from Delta partners like T-Mobile and American Express.

Delta’s future plans involve expanding the Sync initiative to its widebody fleet in the coming year.
