Regent Seven Seas Cruises recently revealed details about its latest multi-million-dollar art collection, set to be showcased on its newest ship, Seven Seas Grandeur.

The collection comprises around 1,600 pieces, primarily focusing on contemporary art, and it took nearly two years to assemble and commission. These artworks were sourced from artists and galleries across the globe. This extensive collection will make its debut when the new ship is launched later this month.

Additionally, Regent will introduce a digital art tour known as the “Art Experience” through its new Regent Mobile App, which will also be launched on Seven Seas Grandeur.

With the help of the app, guests can engage with the artwork and connect with the artists behind them. Using advanced technology, travelers can scan select artworks via the app and access a video that connects them to the artist, offering insights into the creation process and the inspiration behind the piece.

The Regent Mobile App will also offer guests on board the ability to access various features, such as reviewing the daily program guide, Passages, exploring the shore excursion catalog, viewing restaurant menus, and accessing the ship’s phone directory.

Sarah Hall Smith, Regent’s art director, spent nearly two years curating the art collection aboard Seven Seas Grandeur. She also played a role in curating collections on Regent’s sister ships, Seven Seas Splendor and Seven Seas Explorer.

Smith commented, “Seven Seas Grandeur is inspired by the past, reimagined for the future, and we’ve strived to reflect this with a captivating onboard art collection.” The art featured on Seven Seas Grandeur includes pieces from renowned artists of our time, such as Pablo Picasso and Eduardo Arranz-Bravo. The collection also includes installations and features, including the largest hand-woven tapestry on any Regent ship, a hand-cast glass Bonsai Cherry Tree Sculpture, and the first Fabergé egg to permanently reside at sea.

The curated art collection on Seven Seas Grandeur showcases artists from around the world, working in various mediums, including sculpture, original paintings, and photography.
