Matalan has enlisted Jeremy Pee, the former Chief Digital and Technology Officer at M&S, as a new non-executive director. With over two decades of retail experience, Pee played a crucial role in M&S’s digital transformation during his five-year tenure. He revamped the high-street retailer’s digital capabilities, transforming stores into click-and-collect hubs and implementing digital screens for hassle-free returns. Pee’s previous roles include establishing the online division of Canada’s largest retailer at Loblaw Digital and overseeing profit and loss for the largest category at Staples.

Karl-Heinz Holland, Matalan’s chair, expressed confidence in Pee’s appointment, citing his profound retail experience and unmatched expertise in digital and technological transformation. Pee’s contribution is expected to be instrumental as Matalan refines and implements its omnichannel strategy to better serve families. In response to his new role, Pee conveyed excitement about collaborating with the board and executive team to unlock the full potential of digital and omnichannel retailing, ultimately contributing to the development of a more robust and contemporary Matalan.
