Passengers flying with Saudia and Riyadh Air will now enjoy shared loyalty points and synchronized booking arrangements thanks to a recent agreement between the two airlines in the Kingdom.

Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both parties, seats on each other’s flights will be available for sale, marking a significant step in unifying efforts to bolster the aviation sector.

The MoU, the first of its kind between the two carriers, outlines a comprehensive interline and codeshare framework, facilitating seamless passenger connections across both airlines’ serviced sectors.

Furthermore, the agreement extends to loyalty programs, enabling members of both airlines to earn and redeem points or credits when utilizing the codeshare services.

Saudia CEO Ibrahim Koshy expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing its alignment with the national aviation strategy and the Kingdom’s tourism objectives. He highlighted the historic significance of the partnership, which is poised to positively disrupt the industry.

Riyadh Air CEO Tony Douglas echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the strategic collaboration’s potential to elevate air travel standards and contribute to the growth of travel and tourism within the Kingdom.

The MoU is expected to pave the way for future bilateral initiatives and agreements, expanding beyond flight operations to offer travelers a suite of benefits both domestically and internationally. This includes the anticipation of a broader loyalty framework, promising enhanced elite-level benefits across the airlines’ extensive global networks.
