GLOVistara, a collaborative effort between the Tata group and Singapore Airlines, commenced operations for four non-stop weekly flights connecting Mumbai and Doha on December 15.
The inaugural journey, facilitated by an A321neo aircraft, took off from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai at 18:45 on December 15, 2023, and landed at Hamad International Airport in Doha at 20:30.
Given the consistently growing demand for travel between India and the Middle East, Vistara is actively working on expanding its presence in the region. The airline already provides direct flights to five Middle Eastern destinations, including Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Dubai, Jeddah, and Muscat.
Vistara’s CEO, Vinod Kannan, expressed confidence in the positive reception of Vistara’s Middle Eastern routes and anticipates that launching operations in Doha will further solidify the airline’s presence in the region. Doha, being a vital commercial hub and home to a significant Indian diaspora, marks Vistara’s 50th destination and the sixth in the Middle East. Kannan stated the excitement of introducing the Best Airline in India and Southern Asia to Doha with direct connectivity from Mumbai.
About Vistara: TATA SIA Airlines Limited, operating under the brand name Vistara, is a joint venture with a 51:49 ownership structure between Tata Sons Private Limited and Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA).
